Teachers

David Atkinson

David first became drawn to the Yogic path in 1999 when he took up Transcendental Meditation, then in 2000 ‘stumbled’ upon posture work (asana) through a close family friend. He practiced Iyengar Yoga and was introduced to the vinyasa form via Buddhist Yogi - Sudaka shortly after.

He holds a 200 hour teaching qualification from Union Yoga in which his teacher was Brian Cooper, in 2008 will commence study for his 500 hour diploma also under the guidance of Brian. David has been teaching since 2004 and has attended other workshop & retreat training working with a variety of established teachers.

He teaches the ashtanga form with an ‘open minded’ approach and is mindful to suit the level of class to the students and their requirements.

Dan Burt

Dan Burt has been teaching yoga for the last 3 years. He has studied with many of the greatest 'first generation' teachers of ashtanga yoga, in particular Nancy Gilgoff - the first western woman to learn and bring back the ashtanga system to the west.

He has specifically studied the art of adjusting having been trained extensively on this effective and classical method of teaching, and is able to guide students comfortably throughout the entire primary and second series of ashtanga yoga. As a result of this tuition, and through his own personal practice, Dan teaches with a firm sense of tradition and compassion.

Jambo Truong

Jambo has been practicing ashtanga Yoga since 2003 and holds his teaching diploma from Kevala and has attended workshops hosted by Nancy Gilgoff, Brian Cooper, Matt Ryan & Sarem to further his development.

He holds a degree in Integrated Health entitling him to practice Aromatherapy, Acupressure, Ayurvedic Bodywork, Reflexology & Yoga Massage. In addition to this he is also an acupuncturist & Reiki Master practitioner. Techniques from these bodywork therapies are used in his adjustment methods.

Jambo’s yoga teaching background started with young people. He injects fun & light heartedness into his classes by using partner yoga & visualization to take beginners and adepts through the primary series. You can contact Jambo direct for therapies on 07795 631597.
